Layers & Dimensions features a new collection by Mark Dickson of abstract oil paintings and Richard Taylor’s mixed media wall and standing sculptures. Layers & Dimensions is open November 5, 2010 to January 4, 2011, at Gallery KH, Chicago.
“Mark Dickson has been a member of the gallery for over 30 years. Every time we host a show for him, we get very excited. We’ve given this show a new twist by pairing Richard Taylor, Milwaukee sculpture artist, with Mr. Dickson. Taylor’s metal work will be unlike any other. This work is unique in form and design, but most importantly it is fun. Dickson’s style revolves around color. The layering of paint and letting the colors guide each piece to perfection is what Dickson does. Taylor’s work focuses primarily on dimension. He uses artistic topography to guide each piece. Kristen Hagan, Gallery KH co-founder, stated that the pairing of these two artists was natural. Both gentlemen enjoy their respective mediums and it shows in their work.”
